Entrepreneur Whitney Wolfe is the Chief Executive Officer and the founder of Bumble. She began the Bumble operation in 2014. In addition to Bumble, which is a site and an app for dating, two new platform concepts were developed, and have been recently released. The two are named BumbleBFF, and BumbleBizz.
Her company is estimated to be worth over $1 billion. Bumble is currently being sued for patent infringement, the charges brought against it by Match Group. Several dating sites, three of which include match.com, tinder.com, and plentyoffish.com, are operated by Match Group, and the company is claiming that there are similarities to the apps.
Before the creation of Bumble, one of her positions was that of marketing vice president for Tinder. A short while ago, Match Group was interested in purchasing Bumble, reportedly for an estimated purchase price of $450 million. Whitney Wolfe declined the offer. Bumble has over 22 million users.
